Praise the Lord!

Exodus 15:2
"The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him."

Well, I know the miracles that God has performed for us this week may not seem as big as those that he performed for the nation of Israel as he brought them out of Egypt. But I feel exactly the same way that they felt as they sang this song to God after he had brought them through a very tough time. And so, this blog is just to tell you all that God is good and we want to publicly praise Him for being GOOD!

Eric and I have had a very busy, rough, stressful week (actually 3 weeks but this week was the pinnacle). With teaching, many soccer practices and games, Bible Study, grades being due, and Parent/Teacher conferences all coming to a head this week, we were pretty stressed out. BUT... God was so good to carry us through and give us strength. So we want to give Him the glory for that. It was not by our own strength but by His mercy and might. Praise God!

Quick update on our school: We have been told that the final decision on our school certificate will come down to us by this Friday. Hopefully this is true this time but we are very positive and hopeful that by this time next week we will be celebrating. Please continue to pray with us for this situation. (And if this is news for any of you, it probably means you are not on our email update list. We try to send out a newsletter each month to those who are committed to praying for us and our ministry here in Korea. If you would like to be added to that list, just send me you email address and I will add you on!)

Quick soccer update: Through incredibly poor weather this week, both of our teams were able to come away with successes. (Which was a real pick-me-up at the end of this week.) We played in snow on Wednesday and wind/rain on Saturday. Currently the boys' team stands at 2-4 wins/loses and the girls' team stands at 3-3. This, too, is due to God's goodness and not the skill of the coaches. (Mostly the girls' coach that is) :)

Ok, so that's all I have for now. Two more weeks until Spring Break! Yay!
God Bless!

Soccer

Hey Everyone! I bet you've been wondering if we'd fallen off the edge of the earth yet. Nope! It's more like we've fallen into soccer season and have hit the ground running. Needless to say, things have been quite busy. We are surviving, but after 3 weeks now, we are getting pretty tired. This last week alone we had practice Monday & Tuesday night. Drove up to a game in Suwon on Wednesday. Had an away game on Friday night. And had a home game on Saturday morning. Whew! These next 2 weeks look pretty brutal too with lots of games but I think if we can make it through them, then we can make it through the next month after that as well. Needless to say, both Eric and I are REALLY looking forward to Spring Break in April.

So an update on our teams... After 3 years of coaching soccer, Eric has become quite knowledgeable and, in my opinion, is a great coach! And, I have to say, that if I didn't have his help as much as I do, things would NOT be going well for me. He is such a blessing and support to me as I endevor to take my turn at head coaching as well. I do have an assistant coach, but neither one of us are very knowledgeable about the sport. For those of you who don't know, the reason I am coaching this year is pretty simple. When you are at a small Christian school, short-staffed by 7 people, no one else knows soccer, and most of the other teachers have taken a turn already coaching all the other sports, you do what you need to do so the school can keep going and so the kids can keep enjoying the sport while at the same time learning about God. Plus, I enjoy the fact that this is something Eric and I can do together instead of me sitting at home every night waiting for him to get home from practice.

Currently both of our teams have 1 win and 2 losses. Eric has 14 players on his team and I have 11! Actually, one of my players can only practice and play 1/2 of the time so sometimes we have to play with 10. Not fun! Although... our game that we won was actually with 10 players. I also have several injured girls as well. So please pray that I don't lose any more girls and if possible, 1 or 2 more would join us so I can have a full team AND subs!

So here are a few pictures from our Saturday game yesterday. Enjoy!
